The news offers an interactive map of vaccination coverage with at least the first dose in all domestic settlements, according to age groups, as reported by the Institute of Health Information and Statistics (ÚZIS).

In order to present general trends in the article, the editorial staff filtered out cities with more than 15,000 inhabitants and focused on the most endangered groups of seniors.

At the same time, however, the immunization of the 16-29 age group, because it is among these people that the infection is currently spreading the most due to a more active lifestyle and a high number of contacts.

Most seniors over 60 vaccinated with at least the first dose are in relation to the local population in Havlíčkův Brod, where the proportion of vaccinated is 86.8 percent. In Prague, over 81 percent of seniors over the age of 60 have at least partial protection after the first dose.

The highest number of vaccinated people from the age group 16-29 is in Jindřichův Hradec.

There are out of a total of 3073 people vaccinated with at least the first dose of the vaccine in 1525 people, which is 49.6 percent. In Prague, 44.1 percent of the 176,544 inhabitants in this age group received the vaccine.

Where are the most unvaccinated seniors?

In the most vulnerable groups, ie seniors over 60, vaccination coverage is generally higher. They were among the first at the beginning of the year to be introduced into the vaccination system by the state.

At least the first dose was given to more than 80 percent of seniors over the age of 80, another roughly 10 percent are waiting for vaccination. It looks similar in the lower age group of 70-79 years. But not everyone is interested in vaccination and want to undergo it.

For example, in Prague, where about 55,000 people over the age of 80 live, 14.1 percent of the population is not vaccinated, in absolute numbers there are 7,781 seniors from this age group.

In the lower age groups 60 to 69 and 70 to 79 years, which include about 263 thousand people, 51 thousand are not vaccinated.

The highest number of unvaccinated seniors over the age of 80 in cities with more than 15,000 inhabitants, due to the local population, is in Třinec, where 33 percent of these people are not vaccinated, which corresponds to 553 seniors over the age of 80. Varnsdorf has two percent less.

The data also show that in small and smaller municipalities and cities, the vaccination coverage of senior groups over the age of 80 is lower. According to the director of IHIS Ladislav Dušek, the availability of vaccination centers may play a role here.
