The CD Águila player, Darwin Cerén, captured a week ago, was released after paying $10,000 bail, for the alleged crime of “other sexual assaults,” as decreed by the Fourth Court of Peace of San Miguel, after complete the initial hearing.
Precautionary measures were ordered against the attacker of the feathered club, but investigations should clarify the facts in the coming days. Judicial sources assured that the measures could not be revealed due to the total confidentiality of the case.
Cerén was captured last Wednesday, February 7, by the National Civil Police (PNC), after the match that corresponded to date 5 of the 2024 Clausura Tournament and which ended with a goalless draw between the feathered team and Isidro Metapán.
According to the PNC, the Aguilucho player had an administrative order issued by the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) since last January 31 for the alleged crime of “other attacks to the detriment of the sexual freedom of a victim.”
The case has been handled completely confidentially and so far what the club said was: “as a club we fully respect the authorities and the legal processes in our society, which is why we believe in a fair, transparent and exhaustive investigation that allows us to know the truth of the facts.”
The feathered team mentioned that they will accompany and collaborate with the player and the authorities to clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident. And also, they called on the general public to respect the privacy and integrity of both the player and his family during the “difficult moment.”
After being released, the player shared a message on his social networks: “There are things that make you stronger. Problems only have two solutions, either you sink with them or you overcome them, you learn and grow.”
