Darts Professional Martin Schindler’s Quarter-Final Loss at World Grand Prix

Darts professional Martin Schindler clearly missed out on making it to the semi-finals at the World Grand Prix in Leicester, England. The German number two lost 3-0 to former world champion Gerwyn Price (Wales). The 27-year-old Strausberger was the first German to ever reach the quarter-finals of the major tournament, while World Cup semi-finalist Gabriel Clemens (39) was eliminated in the first round.

Schindler, who had previously eliminated darts icon Raymond van Barneveld (Netherlands) and Stephen Bunting (England), had no chance in his third appearance at the Morningsyde Arena. The world number 25. lost all of the first eight legs, but at least prevented the “White Wash” with a win in the ninth leg. As in the previous year, Price was the final stop for Schindler. The fourth-seeded Welshman, winner of the 2020 World Grand Prix, will now face world champion Michael Smith (England) or his compatriot Andrew Gilding in the round of the last four on Saturday.
