sport">The Northern Irishman has been found guilty of match fixing. He was sentenced to six years for that demand. Because he did not cooperate with the investigation, he withheld his phone data, the DRA gave him another year and a half to his pants.
sport">The McKinstry games in question took place in April and May of this year, were played online and were not under the auspices of the PDC darts association. It concerns defeats against David Evans (5-0) and Wessel Nijman (5-1), which involved suspicious gambling behavior.
sport">Nijman was previously suspended for five years – in October – due to match fixing. There is no indication that Evans has gone wrong.
sport">McKinstry acknowledged in an October 17 hearing that he had knowingly lost against Evans. He denied that there had been any match fixing in his match against Nijman.
sport">“I made a bad decision at a bad time in my life,” McKinstry, number 116 on the PDC Order of Merit, said in a statement on Facebook. “I’m going to blame myself for this for the rest of my life. I hope that others, who are also in a bad position, will see this and learn from it. I will work hard, keep a low profile and hopefully I will eventually come back stronger. ”
