“It all started with the chords composed by Jānis. It was he who thought of creating a new Christmas song. After working together in the studio, I went home and wrote the melodic line and the lyrics of the song without hesitation. very happy that Darta agreed to record this song. In my opinion, she did it wonderfully,” says Oskars Deigelis.
Commenting on the content of the piece, the musician is laconic: “The song “Mans namiņš” is a special tribute to all lonely celebrants of holidays.”
Singer Darta Stepanova has been on stage for more than ten years. She has won the “Golden Microphone” award of Latvian Music Recordings of the Year, as well as other important awards both in Latvia and abroad. So far you have collaborated with artists such as the groups “DaGamba” and “Minuets”, singers Marts Kristiāns Kalniņš, Karīna Tatarinova, Agnese Rakovska, Jānis Aišpurs and others. Darta is currently studying Music Technology and English Literature at Bournemouth College in England.
