DART services between Dun Laoghaire and Bray/Greystones to be halted over Easter weekend for essential engineering works

As Easter approaches, many people in Bray and Greystones are gearing up for a long weekend filled with family gatherings, Easter egg hunts, and other festivities. However, those planning to use the DART to get around town may be in for a surprise. Rail works are set to halt Easter DART services to Bray and Greystones, causing inconvenience for many commuters and travelers alike. In this article, we will explore the reasons behind the disruption, the expected timeframe for the works, and alternative transportation options available for those affected.

Over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend, essential engineering works will be conducted by Irish Rail that will impact DART services between Dun Laoghaire and Bray/Greystones. From Saturday, April 8 to Monday, April 10, DART services will not run at Dun Laoghaire, and both Bray and Greystones stations will be closed. However, Dublin Bus and Go Ahead Ireland will accept valid tickets within the affected area. The works will involve overhead line renewal, train protection system works, level crossing works, and works on the new station at Woodbrook, between Shankill and Bray. Customers are advised that Rosslare services will also be impacted, and some changes in the regular timetable will occur. On Saturday, April 8, the Connolly to Rosslare Europort services will be operated, and bus transfers will be accessible from Connolly to Greystones. On Sunday, April 9 and Monday, April 10, the Connolly to Rosslare Europort services will be accessed as bus transfers from Connolly to Greystones.

As the Easter holidays approach, those planning to use DART services to travel to Bray and Greystones are advised to make alternative arrangements. The rail works to halt Easter DART services may cause some inconvenience, but they are necessary for the ongoing maintenance and improvement of the network. Irish Rail apologizes for any disruption this may cause and encourages commuters to check their website for updates and alternative travel options. We look forward to the completion of the rail works and the continued reliability and efficiency of DART services.
