Aran Aum Pannu is a film about women’s courage. Rani’s is the main story of the anthology film about three women bravely facing the emotions of sex. Directed by Ashiq Abu, Rani played Darshan Rajendran and Roshan Mathew in the lead roles. The last scenes of the film were very controversial.

Darshan says “Aanum Pennuum” was a time when she felt very proud to be a girl from the Malayalam industry who didn’t feel any tension. Darshana explains that it was the theatrical experience that taught him all this. The actor also says his theatrical experience made him so bold.
‘Theater has shaped me in every way. I learned what I am today from the theater. It was only after acting in the theater that she began to see the body, mind and voice as tools for acting. When I did ‘Aan Aum Annu’, I had no idea how to shoot those sequences in the forest. I had full faith in the creators of that film. When I read the story, I found it interesting. I thought about how to shoot but I didn’t ask Ashiq Abu or Shaiju Khalid. Neither was asked or discussed about the recovery plan. Those scenes in the forest looked like college scenes to me.
I was very comfortable. This is my job as an actor. But not all are the same in the world. It didn’t seem like a big deal at the time due to the professionalism. It was the theater that gave me the confidence to do it and to understand that my body was only a tool for acting. The space was like this when the theater was finished. Sometimes there isn’t a special place to change clothes and get ready. Sometimes changing clothes from the stage itself. Having lived through such experiences, I don’t take it as a problem. Maybe because I got to the point where acting is important and nothing else, I felt comfortable in that space as well. To be honest, it was very liberating for me. It was a time when I felt very proud to be a girl from the Malayalam industry who didn’t feel any tension, neither male nor female, ‘said Darshana Rajendran.
