The city of Darmstadt commemorates the victims of the right-wing extremist attack in Hanau.
On Friday, February 19, the city of Darmstadt is commemorating the victims of the right-wing extremist attack in Hanau.
Due to the corona situation, the event will take place as an online format – with the projection of the names and portraits of the murdered in public space and a commemorative speech by Mayor Jochen Partsch (Greens). The commemoration is supported, among others, by the interest group Darmstadt Migrant Self-Organizations (IG MSOs), the Foreigners Advisory Council, the Association of German Sinti and Roma and several churches. The video can be seen from Friday on www.darmstadt.de and at the address https://youtu.be/CWMkPexTBXo. Together with the Alliance against Right and other anti-fascist and migrant groups, the Interventionist Left Darmstadt calls for a demonstration at 4 p.m. on Luisenplatz. The organizers want to remind of the attack and “express the anger over right-wing terror and the lack of consequences”. jon
