On January 7, New Year’s Eve is celebrated in the downtown church of St. Ludwig Darmstadt.

Manfred Bockschweiger, solo trumpeter at the Darmstadt State Theater, and the regional cantor Jorin Sandau (on the Winterhalter symphony organ and Andreas Schiegnitz’s new Wooden Organ) let the Christmas season and Epiphany linger in their concert. Christmas choral preludes by JS Bach, JL Krebs and Christoph Graupner will be heard, as well as the cheerful “Rondo for Christmas” by Naji Hakim and a romance and a Te Deum by Max Reger, who was born 150 years ago.

Admission is free, donations required.
