The city and the country increase the guarantees for the renewal of the football stadium at Böllenfalltor in Darmstadt.
The further renovation of the football stadium at Darmstadt’s Böllenfalltor will continue to increase in price. Initially, costs of 28.5 million euros had been calculated. In autumn 2018, the major construction project of the second division SV Darmstadt 98 had already increased by 40 percent to around 40.5 million euros. Now there is talk of a possible cost increase of another six million euros.
With a large majority, the Darmstadt city council decided on Thursday evening that the city would take on a further counter-guarantee of a maximum of one and a half million euros from the state to ensure the overall financing of the project. The state and city vouch for the project with a total of nine million euros.
Only the Uwiga faction voted against a corresponding magistrate bill, which was not discussed. The AfD and a former member of their group abstained.
