The creators of Darkwood have finally brought a major update to release, but further ones are a big question
The creators of Darkwood decided to go into hiatus (indefinite break). However, they finally released an update.
With the 1.4 update, Darkwood moved from Unity 5.5.3 to version 2021.3.30 – fewer software and hardware conflicts, better performance and fewer crashes.
Fixed the vast majority of known bugs (not all), as well as many errors associated with new Mac and Linux systems.
There is improved 4K support, fixed achievements, added Steam Cloud, redesigned controls (gamepad) and more – with a full list of changes can be found here.
It is noteworthy that DRM (protection against pirates) was added to Darkwood on Windows. The developers clarified that they have added standard Steam DRM. It was needed for service integration, has nothing to do with Denuvo’s “crap” making the word “DRM” a trigger.
