Why is Daredevil: Born Again’s production paused?
The highly anticipated Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again has hit a roadblock as its production has been put on hold indefinitely. The reason behind this pause is the ongoing writers’ strike.
The news of the production being halted was reported by Deadline. According to their sources, the filming of Daredevil: Born Again had already been temporarily shut down multiple times due to the writers’ strike but now it remains paused until the strike is resolved.
Daredevil: Born Again serves as an 18-episode revival of the original series that ran for three seasons. Fans can expect the return of beloved actors Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio, reprising their roles as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Wilson Fisk/Kingpin respectively.
Both characters made their debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe last year. Kingpin appeared as a guest star in the Disney+ series Hawkeye, while Matt Murdock had a brief cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Cox also delighted fans with his appearance in two episodes of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, showcasing a lighter side of the hero.
In addition to Cox and D’Onofrio, the Daredevil revival will bring back Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher, much to the excitement of fans. The cast also includes Sandrine Holt as Vanessa Fisk, Michael Gandolfini, Margarita Levieva, Michael Gaston, Nikki M. James, and Arty Froushan.
Head writers Matt Corman and Chris Ord, along with Kevin Feige, will serve as executive producers for Daredevil: Born Again. As of now, the series is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ in the spring of 2024.
