Darby McDevitt has decided to leave Ubisoft and look for another challenge. He announced this via Twitter.
McDevitt was the Narrative Director of Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla and has left his mark on multiple titles in the franchise over the years. Partly because of this, and the fact that he was in regular contact with the community, he was the face of the series in recent years, as well as the lore master of the AC universe. But that is now coming to an end.
We must disappoint those who hope for a little drama, because given the tone of the Tweets, the departure seems to have gone very smoothly. After all, sometimes a person is just ready for something else. A statement from Ubisoft, provided to Eurogamer, also shows no bad blood: “After ten years, Darby McDevit has decided to leave Ubisoft to embark on a new adventure,” writes a spokesman. Over the years, he has inspired us with his talent for storytelling, creating great stories and bringing memorable characters to life. We thank him for all his contributions and wish him the best. ”
A special thanks to all the fans & content creators that have supported & expanded on our work over the years. Thank you for your kind attention! You have my deepest respect & admiration. It has been the honor of a lifetime to get to know so many of you.
