Daphne Wellens was on set with well-known best friends: “Evelien and Frances can always call me, even at night” | showbiz

From ‘Spring’ to ‘De Rodenburgs’ to ‘Fair Trade’: at 33, actress Daphne Wellens can already present a nice list of diverse roles. Now she can add Violet, one of the three rambunctious thirty-somethings in the brand new Streamz series ‘F*** You Very, Very Much’. “Violet is a very greedy woman,” says Daphne. “Both with the Thai and in life (laughs). She wants to get everything out of it and actually it works well. She has a boyfriend, is on a lot of money, has a nice house and recently a baby. Yet she feels that she is missing something in her life. She goes in search of what can bring her peace, but that is where things go terribly wrong: she starts an affair and develops an alcohol problem. Violet is a character that is very distant from me, but that’s what made it exciting and interesting. I really got into it. When we were spinning, I could feel her destructive side. I even had to be careful not to go too hard on it. Then I was suddenly smoking on the set while I find that very dirty. As an actress you always look for a connection with a character, you need that to be able to put it down believable. But when you play a character who goes down like that, it’s important as an actor to take good care of yourself. And I do. By very consciously seeking peace, for example. Because in my head it is often restless. I am full of creativity and ideas and want to do everything at once. But that kind of unrest is also a powerful source of energy.”
