Danube bridge under blockade, what’s going on

A protest by fruit and vegetable producers closed traffic in the area of ​​the Danube Bridge border crossing near Ruse.

Their dissatisfaction is with the policy of support in agriculture. They insist that the funds for the support of livestock and plant breeders be distributed equally, and not as planned 60 percent in favor of the former.

According to fruit and vegetable producers, the state’s policy will lead to the destruction of Bulgarian production. Payments under the coupled support scheme are not only late, but also 1/4 lower than in 2021, while the cost of fruits and vegetables has increased by 50%.
