Danper Secures Sustainable Credit of $35 Million with Rabobank

The agro-exporter Danper completed the process with Rabobank to have a sustainable credit for US$ 35 million. The loan, the company said, recognizes the commitment it has with the three vectors of sustainability: economic, social and environmental.

The agro-industrial company, as part of this process to obtain credit, incorporated sustainability as a key factor in its business strategy.

Likewise, it co-constructed with Rabobank social, gender equality and environmental indicators, which reflect its commitment to ESG (environmental, social and governance criteria), which are “objectives aligned with the values ​​of the organization”.

The first indicator is related to equity generated. It seeks to provide equal opportunities to women and men, in an equitable environment free of all forms of discrimination and violence against women.

The second vector is associated with the CEBA Danper program, through which its workers can complete their primary and secondary studies without stopping work.

The third indicator is related to the prenatal check-ups of its pregnant workers in the health centers of its facilities.

In the environmental field, Danper has reaffirmed its commitment to the reduction of solid waste, reducing the waste generated by its production processes.

Jorge Torres, Head of Wholesale Rabobank Chile and Peru, said he was satisfied with Danper’s commitment and the indicators incorporated into sustainable credit. He highlighted the “ambitious goals of a social and environmental nature” of the agro-exporter.

For her part, Rosario Bazán, general manager of Danper, described it as essential to have business partners such as Rabobank, which have common objectives and understand the company’s financial requirements to advance sustainable development.
