Danny Lux revolutionizes regional Mexican music – Telemundo Bahía 48 Area

Danny Lux seeks to redefine the regional Mexican genre for the new generation.

Behind his stage name is Daniel Balderrama who assured that his dream was born with a guitar that his father found in the trash while he was working.

“My dad, he, he has always worked in the cans, the garbage, collecting garbage and everything, and since he always found so many things, he found furniture that people left or toys, I remember every time I heard that my dad arrived , I was running to the door because I wanted to know what he had found. One day I remember that my dad came and found a guitar, I kind of fell in love with that guitar,” said Daniel.

Daniel, at that time only 7 years old and eager to learn to play it, said that his mother put him in the church choir.

“I started playing on Sundays at masses and I was there every Sunday, and it’s like where my love for music was born,” said Daniel.

The young man later entered high school during the pandemic, and took advantage of the rise of social networks and uploaded his first cover on TikTok, reaching 12,000 views, soon to 50,000 followers.

He read a comment that motivated him to try his own songs, and the rest is history.

“I looked at a comment that someone said ‘Dany, why don’t you try to make your own music?’, and that’s when I tried to write all my songs, I kind of tried to make my own style and now we are where we are,” he said. Daniel.

Born in Palm Springs to Mexican immigrant parents, Daniel said his success would not be possible without them, his greatest motivation.

“They crossed over with that dream that their children would grow up in the United States and have more opportunities than they had, and well, many thanks to them that I and my brothers were born here and we never lost that culture that they brought, the food, everything. It’s like I was born here, but in my heart I will always be Mexican,” Daniel said.

From collaborations with Eslabón Armado, to opening concerts for Coldplay in Mexico, and even performing at Coachella, this last event was undoubtedly memorable for Danny and his family since his father used to be a healthcare worker at the festival.

“He worked removing trash at that event and now that his son was able to play there, it was a special moment for everyone and my parents were there, and that was the first time. I remember that my dad told me that he was proud of me,” said Daniel.

Daniel, with a new Sierreño-Alternative style, seeks to be faithful to his roots and impregnate his songs with lyrics that he says many can identify with.

“Well, I think that right now young people want someone with whom they can identify, because with whom they feel comfortable and with whom they can vent all that they have inside, and that is what I like to do, make songs that I know that young people will relate to.” can identify, that perhaps they are going through a heartbreak or are in love and can. Here you have a friend then,” Daniel added.

And thus he sends a message to other young people, to fight for their dreams and always carry their roots high.

“You always need that desire and believe in yourself, because it took me a long time to believe in myself, I think that all young people really have to know that they can and have that patience and dedicate themselves to what they want to do” Daniel assured.
