Supported by Tony Cephalos Arsenal manager Michael Arteta has reached low heights in his managerial career and has expressed his desire to settle for La Liga.

The Real Madrid midfielder spent two years on loan at the Emirates, first with Unai Emery and then with former Gunners captain Michael Arteta in December 2019.

Cephalos fought for stability and at the end of the 2020/21 campaign, the Spaniard found himself on and off the team.

The 24-year-old will officially leave Arsenal when his contract expires at the end of June, after which he will return to parent club Madrid.

Cephalos certainly has a very bright future ahead of Arteta, but he wants regular football on Spain’s top plane and plans to sit down with Madrid’s new manager Carlo Ancelotti for a chat.

‘Arteta is a coach [Pep] Cardiola for a few years, ‘Cephalos Cadena told SER.

“He’s a coach, he’s going to be great in a few years, but I want to go back to La Liga.

“I think I have worked a lot more as a player this year and now I think it is time to move to a club with a long contract and show my game.

‘[Carlo] Ancelotti has arrived and we have to talk. I have never met him, but there are players who speak well of him. I hope that Madrid is well.

“The first thing is to talk to the coach and find out what he wants from me and tell him what I want, which should be important.

“I did not go to the European Championship, the World Cup will be played soon. It should be a conversation between two people with clear things. ‘
