On Friday evening, party leader Lars Løkke Rasmussen in the Moderates confirmed that his former party colleague Mike Villa Fonseca is in love with a 15-year-old girl.

According to Lars Løkke, Villa Fonseca began his relationship with the girl when she was in the 8th grade.
The minimum sexual age in Denmark is 15, and the politician himself emphasizes that the relationship is within the framework of the legislation.
It is a clear violation of the party’s code of conductwhere it is stated that it is not permitted to have sexual relations with persons under the age of 18.
– We cannot have sitting members of the Norwegian Parliament who have permanent sexual relations with minors, says Løkke Rasmussen to the TV channel, who is clear that the politician will not be allowed to return to the party.
Fonseca is said to have told about the relationship during the Moderates’ group meeting on Tuesday this week, after rumors about the relationship had abounded in social media.

Fonseca is a trained nurse and has since worked as a firefighter before he was elected to the Norwegian Parliament last year.

The scandal could have major political consequences in Denmark.
The moderates are currently in government with the Liberals and the Social Democrats, with a total of 88 mandates.
When the Fonsecas now resign from the party, that may change. If he takes the mandate with him to another party, the governing parties will lose their majority.
Rasmussen says he will be very disappointed if other parties take in a member of parliament who has a relationship with a child.
