FC Red Bull Salzburg could soon line up with a Danish axis in midfield. As the Danish newspaper “BT” reports, Mads Bidstrup is moving from FC Brentford to the city of Mozart.
The 22-year-old is said to join Salzburg for six million euros, although this sum could increase with various bonus payments. According to “BT”, the transfer has already been fixed, only the medical tests are still pending.
Last year Bidstrup was loaned to FC Nordsjaelland in the Danish Superliga and knew how to impress there, was an undisputed regular in central midfield at the runners-up. Bidstrup has made ten appearances for Denmark’s U21 side alongside Maurits Kjaergaard.
Bidstrup brings RB experience with him
Bidstrup also has a little RB experience: in 2018 he moved from FC Copenhagen to RB Leipzig U17s, and in 2020 he switched from Leipzig U19s to Brentford on the island.
Now those responsible in Salzburg are hoping that Bidstrup will make the departure of Nicolas Seiwald to Leipzig forgotten as soon as possible.
