A rescue operation has been launched from both the Swedish and Norwegian sides after two Danish hikers did not arrive as planned from Abisko in Sweden to Narvik on Sunday.
The two walkers, who are siblings, were well equipped when the trip started in Abisko in Sweden on Thursday 1 June, according to the police in Nordland.
According to the plan, they should have arrived in Narvik on Sunday 4 June, but they have not arrived at the agreed time. Rescuers have also been unable to locate the two – a man in his early 30s and a woman in her late 20s.
Operations manager Lars Halvorsen in the Nordland police district asks people who have information about the two walkers to contact them on 02800.
