Danish brewery takes over the entire Hansa Borg

– Hansa Borg Breweries has for several years been owned 75 percent by Borg Invest and 25 percent by Royal Unibrew. The company is today well positioned for further growth, and we believe that Royal Unibrew is a strong and long-term industrial owner who can take the business to the next phase, says chairman of the board Thor Bendik Weider in Borg Invest in a press release.

With the acquisition, Royal Unibrew becomes the sole owner of the beverage group Hansa Borg Bryggerier, which is Norway’s second largest brewery and beverage group with about 300 employees.

– The transaction gives us the opportunity to continue to be involved as more indirect owners, as the payment will mainly be in Royal Unibrew shares, Weider says.

According to the press release, the acquisition values the entire Hansa Borg at around NOK 3 billion.
