Aleksey Danilov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, reacted to this event in an interview. He stressed that his position on the HLE was formed long ago.
Interesting Deputies-traitors are deprived of citizenship: why the process is long
Sanctions against these individuals were introduced even before the full-scale war
Oleksiy Danilov said that persons deprived of citizenship are already under the sanctions of the National Security and Defense Council, which were imposed against them by Volodymyr Zelensky. And they were introduced even before the full-scale invasion of Russia on February 24th. Moreover, this was the first time they were used against “Putin’s godfather” and his wife.
We thus prepared for February 24th. Imagine if all these propagandists would tell something like this to the last on their Russian-funded propaganda channels,
he stressed.
Also, the deprivation of citizenship means that these odious persons will lose their parliamentary mandates.
There is blood on their hands
However, it is known that there are still deputies in the Verkhovna Rada who were once members of the Opposition Platform for Life. For example, the pro-Russian politician, deputy Nestor Shufrich, who heads the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Freedom of Speech. The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council also gave them advice.
As for the deputies from the Opposition Platform for Life, who go to the Verkhovna Rada, they lower their eyes – they will be carried forward with their feet. Go with God, leave that mandate and rest yourselves. Your hands are up to the elbows in blood – everyone who called the “Russian world” here,
– he said.
Aleksey Danilov stressed that his position towards the HLE was formed even before the full-scale war, and, in his opinion, they are a hostile political force, “taking an absolutely non-state position.” All these pro-Russian figures who are also involved in this tragedy should leave politics and “leave our country alone.”
Deprivation of citizenship of odious persons: what is known
- Decree on deprivation of citizenship Medvedchuk, Kuzmin, Kozak and Derkach were signed by Vladimir Zelensky on January 10. He stressed that “if people’s deputies choose to serve not the people of Ukraine, but the murderers who came to Ukraine, then the actions will be appropriate.”
- The President of Ukraine also stressed that these persons must live in the state whose citizenship they had even earlier. And also added that these are not the last such decisions.
- Note that the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada have already voted for the deprivation of these persons of mandates. At the same time, more than 300 votes were collected for each of the former deputies.
