Ukraine is in state of war all 30 years.

During an interview with a TV channel ISLND TV Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Alexei Danilov recalled that former Russian President Boris Yeltsin “encroached on Crimea.”

“We have been in the war for 30 years. The Russian Federation has never had the desire to leave us alone. Even Yeltsin already encroached on the Crimea and said that this was not entirely our territory,” Danilov said.

Danilov believes that Russia’s war against Ukraine will be “long”, and the hot phase of Russian aggression will not end in May.

According to the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, the end of the war depends on the Ukrainian military and our partners.

“If we talk about this part of the hot phase of the war, then I am not an optimist that it will end in May. It will be a long war and it will still continue on our territory,” Danilov said.

He added that the end of the war depends on many factors.

“How long? It depends on many factors. First of all, it depends on our troops. And it depends on our partners, we need to recognize this and talk about it. Because without the support of partners, it would be very difficult for us to contain this Russian armada, which began to move towards us on February 24,” he stressed.

The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council recalled that the Russian army planned to capture Ukraine in two or three days, and the most “optimistic scenarios” predicted the capture in two or three weeks and a further guerrilla war of Ukrainians against the aggressor country.

Formerly Advisor to the Head of the President’s Office Oleksiy Arestovich assumed that the Russian offensive in eastern Ukraine expire in two to three weeks. After that, active hostilities may stop, and the war will move into a positional phase.
