Sometimes you have to dare to jump to make your big dream come true and that’s exactly what Danielle Ponder did. The American grew up in the state of New York as the daughter of a minister and for a long time seemed to be building a solid career as a criminal lawyer. On the edge of tram 4, however, she decided to give her life a completely new turn by wholeheartedly choosing music. The step into the unknown has already paid for itself with a well-received debut album Some Of Us Are Above and a series of acclaimed concerts in the United States. This summer she will cross over to Europe, but she won’t do that before releasing another sublime single with “Roll The Credits”.
Danielle Ponder has a clock of a voice that she knows how to use in a fantastic way on “Roll The Credits”. It has a certain flair that actually gives the song a grandeur when singing the first note. Yet she cleverly doses her vocal abilities in the beginning and gives a small shadow of her phenomenal lashes in the middle of the song. The instrumentation of “Roll The Credits” also deserve their credits because the pulsating bass line joins the dark percussion strongly and knows how to shoot in the ear at the right moments. Danielle Ponder stuns on “Roll The Credits” and is already making us eagerly awaiting her performance at Rock Werchter.
On Saturday, July 1, Danielle Ponder gets up rock Werchter where she is allowed to open the Klub C.
