Success probably runs in the family. With “free and limitless” storms Daniela Alfinito Right away at number 1 in the domestic charts. It is the fourth album in a row that has made it to the top position in this country – a feat that only a few have managed before. Including her father.

The daughter of FriendsStar Bernd Ulrich is also going along with it Helene Fischer right away: “I don’t give a damn. I’m me. I do my thing,” says the 51-year-old “Today”-Interview. “I think it’s so nice that my music is received in all countries. My path to here was very, very rocky and I walked it, now I have sand under my feet.”

Daniela is addressing the many critical comments that have been pouring down on her since the beginning of her career. Because despite her success, the pop singer still opens her fan mail herself, has no pre-sorters, because she doesn’t want any filters between herself and her reality. “I get a lot of criticism: What does she look like today? What is her make-up? What did she wear on stage? At first I thought I wouldn’t be able to hold out for long. I often drove to my dad crying and had I said, I can’t do it anymore,” says Daniela.
“I’m just a fish”
It’s not always easy for her to let criticism roll off when she’s hurtful or wants to bend someone: “I’m such a sensitive person. I show a lot of strength on the outside, but I’m just a fish [Sternzeichen, Anm. d. Red.]. I’m very sensitive, I take everything to heart,” says the 51-year-old, who has also been working as a geriatric nurse for 30 years suffers from it, I wish him a speedy recovery.”
But despite all the blows to the neck, the singer remains an indomitable optimist: “I see the good in everyone. I think everyone is good. But I’ve also fallen flat on my face quite often. It doesn’t matter, one more experience, I just stand up,” laughs Daniela, who is going on a big tour of Austria in November.
