Daniel Zeiler becomes the new head of the Freiburg Sparkasse – Economy

The Sparkasse Freiburg-Nördlicher Breisgau will have a new boss on November 1, 2022: Daniel Zeiler, board member of the Kreissparkasse Tuttlingen will succeed Marcel Thimm.

Zeiler is 48 and is currently responsible for overall bank and risk management on the Board of Directors of Kreissparkasse Tuttlingen. He will also be responsible for this in Freiburg. Zeiler completed his training at Sparkasse Pforzheim Calw. There he was managing director of the local holding company, held managerial roles in corporate banking and worked as a deputy member of the board. Zeiler is a graduate of the Academy of the Savings Banks Organization and has an MBA from the Vienna University of Economics and Business.

Marcel Thimm (62) will retire in November. He can then look back on 47 years in the savings bank organization, including 23 years as a member of the board.

Erich Greil (deputy chairman), Bernd Rigl and Lars Hopp will remain on the board of the Sparkasse Freiburg-Nördlicher Breisgau.

The Sparkasse Freiburg-Nördlicher Breisgau has total assets of 7.5 billion euros and employs around 900 people.
