Daniel Sarcos returns to television with the program “Sarcastic”

After six years of absence from the United States screens, the famous Venezuelan host Daniel Sarcos started a program called “Sarcastic,” which can be seen nationally through the Ve Plus channel, available on pay television companies such as DirecTV.

The show airs on Wednesdays at 8pm Miami time. It’s a style talk showwhere guests discuss various topics and also features interviews with celebrities such as Adamari López and Don Francisco. It also features special participation from psychologist and sexologist Antonia López and an astrologer.

Daniel Sarcos hosts the show “Sarcastic,” which airs on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. Miami time.

Sarcos, who works in television in several Latin American countries, sounds happy with the project, which brings him back to American homes after his time on the Telemundo Network morning show, where he was for five years. “In my career I have worked in different things, music, theater, and film, but television continues to be my great girlfriend,” he says.

The presenter is an icon among his compatriots, having hosted the program “Super Sábados Sensacionales” in his homeland between 1997 and 2009, and the annual Miss Venezuela pageant between 2004 and 2009.

“I understand the evolution we are experiencing with the digital issue, but I am a child of traditional media,” he says. Sarcos built his success under the auspices of the company Venevisión, of the Cisneros Group, which is the sponsor of his new television creation. “’Sarcastic’ is a dream come true and I have my fingers crossed that everything goes well,” says the host, who is 56 years old and the father of three children (two girls and a boy).

One of the young girls is called Carlota Valentina and is the fruit of the host’s marriage to his colleague and compatriot Chiquinquirá Delgado. The child is Daniel Alejandro and he had him with his current partner, another well-known presenter, Alessandra Villegas. Sarcos’ eldest daughter is called María Victoria.

Returning to “Sarcastic,” the unique host explains that his show “has the purpose of touching on topics, sometimes light, sometimes not so much, but always in a humorous tone so that people are entertained as they understand the situations we are experiencing.”

“In short, we will have humor, wit and dynamism, and we will give our opinions on everything without knowing anything, which is the most important thing, like good Latinos,” he announced with his classic sarcastic tone, which gave rise to the name of the program.

More seriously, he points out that “as with all the projects that one does, I would like this to extend over time and there have already been auspicious signs.” In this regard, he said that Venevisión liked the program so much that it has already asked him to make a second season in 2025.

The well-known power of Venevisión means that through Ve Plus, its international channel, “Sarcastic” reaches the screens of the United States and the rest of the Continent, including Venezuela.

Sarcos is not known for his political involvement, but in our interview he does not shy away from a question about the current Venezuelan situation.

“The situation in Venezuela is absolutely clear to the entire world and to Venezuelans; the only ones who do not want to accept it are those people who are in government,” he said, referring to the refusal of Chavismo to recognize the recent electoral victory of the opposition.

How does the presenter deal with nostalgia, which is so closely linked to good spirits and positive energy? “I live with nostalgia; I am one of those people who do not shy away from feelings; I believe that one has to face what one is experiencing, whether it is happy or not,” he answers.

Sarcos’ favorite Venezuelan dish is the “asado negro,” as defined by the site www.familiaktichen.com as “a lean cut of meat, which benefits from low and slow cooking; it is lightly charred and caramelized with ‘piloncillo’, which is unrefined whole cane sugar that is liquefied and poured into molds.”

The host of “Sarcastic” adds that the “black roast” is “cut into slices and served with the sauce that it creates.” “It has a flavor that is somewhere between salty and sweet,” he adds.

Sarcos was born in Caracas and grew up in Maracaibo. As a young man he lived in the La Coromoto neighborhood, in the municipality of San Francisco. There he sang in a popular music group, which introduced him to radio, where he soon took up the microphones to entertain and never stopped doing so.

Taking stock, Sarcos says: “People know me all over the continent.” The conclusion is positive for this small screen personality, who has his home and family in Miami.

While here he dedicates time to “Sarcastic”, he fulfills commitments on television in the Dominican Republic, where he has also been adopted by the public, and on television in other Latin American countries.

“I still feel passion and pleasure for my career and I go where it takes me,” he concludes.
