Marcos García Montes, one of the lawyers of Daniel Sancho in Spain, visited the Telecinco program “Vamos a ver” this morning to reveal some hitherto unknown details about the case which, five months later, is still pending resolution. The lawyer has shown himself to be very sure that his client can escape the death penaltyapplicable in cases of premeditated murder, a crime that both the accused and his team categorically deny.

It’s more, García Montes explains that it was the Thai police themselves who, by mistake, gave rise to the hypothesis that suggests the oppositethat is, Sancho killed Arrieta by accident, which would considerably reduce his sentence. “On August 21, the police, who have continuously been leaking secrets, leak that there has been a fight and it is at that moment when I say that the premeditation is over. The police then incur a contradiction that could be favorable for Sancho.. “We firmly believe that there is a party, we believe in this court and that Justice leads us to a reckless homicide or a causal relationship of this accident,” says García Montes optimistically, who calculates the maximum penalty that his client could face if he meet your expectations: “He would be sentenced to eight or ten years under Thailand’s penal code.. (…) And he could come to Spain when he serves a third of his sentence.“.
Furthermore, García Montes has explained why they fired two Thai lawyers before finding the current one, who will be the one to represent Sancho throughout the judicial process. which will begin next April 9: “The first lawyer we had hid from us the fact that he had copies of the procedure and did not advise Daniel at all well.
