Daniel Obajtek announces cuts in gasoline prices

Fuel prices will drop thanks to the law reducing excise duty on fuels and electricity, which was passed on Thursday by the Sejm. This law is part of the government’s anti-inflationary shield, which also provides for, inter alia, changes in VAT rates for electricity, gas and system heat. The reduction of the excise tax on fuel is to enter into force on December 20 this year.

– The 95 will cost about PLN 5.80 per liter. It is difficult to say what the penny is, because there are some price fluctuations. In accordance with the government’s announcement and the reduction of the levies to the state, we will translate it through the wholesale market, because of course it is sewn in the wholesale market and, of course, we will also translate it into the retail market, because we have stations all over Poland. I guess other competing stations will adapt. These are the so-called micro-markets, they will adjust to the price level in our retail – said Obajtek.

He added that there are already movements in the market that are contributing to the decline in fuel prices. He mentioned here, among others declines in crude oil prices, or the strengthening of the zloty against the dollar.

– At some stations, fuel already reaches PLN 5.99 per liter – said the president of PKN Orlen.

According to the analysts of the e-petrol portal, in the period between 13 and 19 December 2021, Pb98 petrol will cost from 6.16 to 6.29 PLN / l, and 95-octane petrol from 5.86 to 5.99 PLN / l. Diesel will also decline – its average price may range from 5.85 to 5.99 PLN / l.
