/ world today news/ “Slavi Trifonov created a phenomenon in show business and a disappointment in politics. Now the foretold end of “There is such a people” is coming,” said Minister of Innovation Daniel Laurer in “Face to Face” on bTV. He added that the people in ITN , who have a clear idea, will vote for the remaining of the cabinet. “I believe that in the Bulgarian parliament, both in the coalition and in the former coalition and in the opposition, there are deputies who are responsible to their voters. I trust that these people will have the courage at the polls to say, “We’re very sorry, but throwing the country into chaos is a crime,” Laurer said.
Asked to comment on the conditions that GERB leader Boyko Borisov has set for future coalition partners, to which the PP and DB answered, and when asked whether the PP is discussing an option for a coalition with GERB, Laurer said the following: “The fact that Mr. Borisov has outlined who he would work with is great, but we have a firm line. We work with people who really believe in what Bulgaria needs to do to become a truly legal state. We cannot negotiate with parties that embody the lack of of legality over the last decade”.
According to him, it is too early to guess what the options are, because the next parliament will be similar to this one. “But it is important that the parties that are represented in it, and their leadership, realize this process that, we keep saying – all this corruption must stop. The leadership of these parties cannot be the same as before Laurer said.
Asked by the presenter whether the PP set a condition for GERB to remove Borisov in order to work together, he explained: “We do not set a condition, we say what is critical for us when we conduct a dialogue with parliamentary forces. Both with GERB and with DPS – we cannot have a conversation with the current leadership in these parties, as it embodies what happened before us – corruption, leaks, embezzlement of state funds.”
On the hypothesis of the leading GERB without Borisov and DPS without Karadai, he replied: “This would be a good day for Bulgarian democracy, we look forward to it happening”.
Regarding the position of President Rumen Radev on the political situation in the country, Laurer said that the presidency prefers to repeat the theses of the opposition. “The president should know that the parliament is not a shop. The only thing that matters is the conscience,” Laurer said. The minister defined the subject of North Macedonia as “the most convenient chewing gum in the whole country”. “For the first time, Europe stands on the side of one of the negotiators and says that the Bulgarian position is correct and the EU will become a guarantor,” Laurer added.
