Not sure you know his name and his face, yet Daniel Boulud is one of the great French cooks like Pierre Gagnaire, Alain Ducasse and Guy Savoy, except that he doesn’t have a restaurant in France. He has spent most of his career in the United States, mainly in New York where he is the French star in the kitchen. With a French heart and a very American sense of business, the one his peers named best chef in the world last December is building a veritable empire.
