This weekend, news circulated on social media about the possible suicide of Dani Alves in a prison in Spain, where he is being held after being convicted of the crime of sexual assault that occurred on December 30, 2022 at the Sutton nightclub in Barcelona.
It was the chronicler Paulo Albuquerque who made the alleged suicide viral, but the brother of former Barcelona player Ney Alves, who dismissed the suicide and pointed out against people who wish harm to the historic right back of the Brazil team.
“How much cruelty human beings have. He was already condemned for the words of a woman who entered a men’s bathroom to do what only he and she know how. He was already convicted. Isn’t it enough? ”He said in a video he uploaded on Instagram in which he described the family’s version of the fact for which Dani was sentenced to four and a half years in prison.
“Is not sufficient. Now the crazy thing is that they want him dead. How can he be so cruel? My father is over 70 years old. My mother is over 60. They don’t have a family, right? These pages that continue to spread these things. May God have mercy on you,” Ney added on his networks.
After several hours, it was the user himself on the social network “Guys, for the love of God, what is this repercussion? I am referring to my cousin Danielzinho from Nova Iguaçu who was missing, but they have already found him alive,” wrote Albuquerque.
For his part, the one who also spoke after the rumors of Dani Alves’ suicide was Acaz Felleger, journalist and press advisor to the player who had a last stint in Mexican soccer – he played for Tigres – before being arrested. “The information was planted on Twitter without any basis. No truthfulness. I spoke with the lawyer and this irresponsible person should be sued,” he explained in an interview with Radio Itatiaia, from Belo Horizonte.
On February 22, two weeks after the end of the trial against him, the Provincial Court of Barcelona found Alves guilty of having sexually assaulted a young woman in a nightclub in Barcelona. After the resolution, the former defender who will turn 41 on May 6 will continue to be detained in Brians 2, a center for prisoners for sexual crimes.
Furthermore, the footballer who became an Olympic champion with the Brazilian national team had to pay the victim the sum of 150 thousand euros as compensation for the moral damage and injuries suffered. For the crime of minor injuries, another 9,000 euros must be added to that. Beyond this, the Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia established that Alves will not be able to communicate with the complainants by any means and that he will not be able to get closer than 1,000 meters to the victims of the case.
