Brazilian full-back Dani Alves, who is behind bars on charges of rape, was surprised by a surprise visit during his 40th birthday on Saturday.
Alves, the most winning player in football history, has been behind prison bars in the Spanish city of Barcelona since January 20, after he was accused of raping a girl in a nightclub in the same city late last year.
And the newspaper “Sport” revealed that Alves’ ex-wife, Dinora Santana, landed at Barcelona airport with her two children, Daniel (16 years) and Victoria (15 years), and the family intends to move to Barcelona permanently in order to be near Alves.
Dinora believes in the innocence of her ex-husband, as she previously said: Danny cannot do such a thing. I lived with him for 10 years and I have known him for 22 years.
Santana appeared on Saturday afternoon at Bryan’s Prison 2 with her children to visit her ex-partner, and this is the first time that Daniel and Victoria have visited their father.
Alves played for Barcelona from 2008-2016, then returned to the Spanish club in the 2021-2022 season before moving to Mexico.
He has represented Brazil since 2006, winning 126 international matches and scoring eight goals.
