Dangerously Strong Winds Warning Issued for Multiple Regions in Bulgaria

A code orange for dangerously strong winds has been issued for tomorrow in eight areas of the country, according to a reference on the website of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH). The warning is valid for the regions of Burgas, Veliko Tarnovo, Gabrovo, Kardjali, Targovishte, Haskovo, Shumen, Yambol. Wind gusts are expected to reach 28 m/s in these areas, BTA reported.

A yellow warning code for strong wind is in effect in 18 regions of the country – Blagoevgrad, Varna, Vratsa, Dobrich, Kyustendil, Lovech, Montana, Pazardjik, Pernik, Plovdiv, Ruse, Razgrad, Silistra, Sliven, Smolyan, Sofia city, Sofia region , Stara Zagora. Wind gusts are expected to reach 22-24 m/s in these areas.

In Blagoevgrad and Smolyan, a warning has also been issued for dangerous rainfall. The NIMH forecast is that a strong and stormy southerly wind with gusts of up to 22-24 m/s will blow in Blagoevgradsko. In the southern regions of the district, there will be significant rainfall with amounts of up to 30 mm. In Smolyan, the wind will be strong and stormy with gusts up to 22-24 m/s. There will be significant rainfall with amounts of up to 30mm.
