Dangerous conspiracy! Taiwanese man found with 67 active Indian SIM cards, CISF caught at IGI airport

New Delhi. Security agencies are probing the role of a Taiwanese national who was caught by CISF personnel at Delhi airport with more than 60 mobile phone SIM cards. Lai Jhin Ping was caught by the Central Security Force on December 18 before boarding a Thai Airways flight to Bangkok from Terminal 3 of the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport.

A spokesperson of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) said, “During the search, 67 Indian SIM cards were found in the luggage of the person which were in working condition and were in the names of various Indian persons.”

The spokesperson said that the Taiwanese national could not give a satisfactory answer as to why he was carrying this SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card. He said the force later informed the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and immigration officials, who interrogated the foreigner.

Delhi Police registered a case against the man and took him into custody for further investigation, a senior official said.
