From Friday evening, there will be another danger warning for Nordland, this time a yellow warning for storms on the coast.
– If the engine stops, you can drift quickly towards land, it is dangerous to be out in a small boat, writes the Meteorological Institute in the danger warning.
They further warn against high waves and that the stingray can reduce visibility.
The danger warning started at 6pm on Friday evening and applies from Støtt on the Helgeland coast to Andnes in Andøy.
According to Yr.no there is a wind gust of 16 m/s at 04:00 in Bodø. It is expected to decrease to 12 m/s in the middle of the day at 12 o’clock, before a small gale picks up again from the northwest with gusts of 17 m/s at 4 p.m.
In the evening, the wind is expected to decrease again, and from 8 p.m. the wind will be down to a light breeze from the northwest with gusts of 11 m/s.
A polar low pressure warning has already been issued for the areas Vesterålsbankene, Røstbanken, Outer Vestfjorden, Trænabanken, as well as parts of Lofoten, Salten and Nord-Helgeland.
– It is still a bit uncertain exactly where the low pressure will move over land. Now it looks like it will pass over Lofoten, so the question then is how much Lofoten shields from what lies behind, i.e. Salten, said meteorologist on duty at Vervarslinga in Tromsø, Sigrid Auganæs, to An on Friday morning.
On Saturday, there is also an orange danger warning for avalanches in Lofoten and Vesterålen.
– Traveling in avalanche terrain requires solid knowledge, experience in route selection and the ability to identify avalanche problems. In general, it is recommended to avoid avalanche terrain, the Meteorological Institute warns, and writes further that avalanches can also hit exposed roads and, rarely, buildings.
