It has inspected more than 400 sites, including 48 malls and 373 stores of large retail chains for food and appliances.
26 violations related to illegal remodeling of commercial establishments were established. They could lead to dangerous incidents similar to the one in Latvia at the end of November, when the ceiling of a supermarket collapsed and killed more than 40 people.
One of the dangerous objects is the mall on “Tsarigradsko shose” – The Mall. There, the inspectors found a remodeled lobby, which has a changed purpose. They drew up an act and prohibited its use, the Ministry of Investment Planning announced.
In Pazardzhik, there are annexes to the two “Tarita” supermarkets without building permits.
RUM Mladost in Burgas has an extension of two apartments, again without construction documents.
The two-story building of “Billa” in Veliko Tarnovo has been converted into two independent shops, with a closed internal staircase without construction documents.
Corrosion on the steel structural elements and cracks in the enclosing walls were discovered by the inspectors in the “Sakar” trading house and the “Veleka” shopping center in Burgas.
In the “Piccadilly-4” supermarket in the city of “Vl. Varnenchik” in Varna has cracks in the eastern part of the building. In the “Astra” shopping complex in Shumen, visible cracks were found on the walls and broken plaster due to leaks in the basement.
In the GUM of Pernik there are cracks in the walls in the administrative part, which are the result of the earthquake in May 2012.
The line minister Danov has ordered to prohibit access to the constructions or parts of them, which were carried out in violation or without construction documents. The owners of the buildings with cracks, defects and deformations were ordered to carry out inspections and prepare the “necessary structural surveys”.
