MOJOKERTO – Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) began to haunt Parengan Village, Jetis District, Mojokerto Regency, East Java. In fact, a six-year-old child died last week from the bite of the Aedes Aegypti mosquito.
The ferocity of the Aedes aegypti mosquito, which can carry the dengue virus, did not target only one child in the village, but seven other children from three neighborhood units in the hamlet, whose condition is still under medical care at this time.
The DHF emergency case in Parengan Village apparently reached the ears of the Head of the Jetis Health Center, Dr. Nurcahyati Akbar Kusuma Wardani, who immediately moved quickly.
Prevention efforts were also carried out by Nurcahyati, namely taking samples of patients with characteristics that lead to DHF, besides that his party also carried out fogging to kill mosquitoes in a number of villages, especially to the homes of residents who had tested positive for DHF.
“Now it can be said to be an emergency, because in Parengan Village, one child died, aged six who was positive for dengue,” said the head of the Jetis Health Center, Dr Kusuma Wardani, Saturday (8/1/2022).
Nurcahyati said, in order to prevent the spread of dengue fever and anticipate unwanted events, all village heads in Jetis District will be gathered to educate the public.
“We socialize in Perning Village first, then Parengan. We emphasize that if it’s hot for three days, laboratory tests must be carried out. If they don’t have BPJS, it’s okay to use ID cards, we come to the village,” he said, Saturday (8/1). /2022).
The head of the Jetis Health Center, Dr. Kusuma Wardani, asked the community to continue implementing the Eradication of Mosquito Nests (PSN).
Kusuma Wardani emphasized that in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, dengue fever should not be underestimated, the community continued to implement the Eradication of Mosquito Nests (PSN), and the community was also asked to be more responsive if their family experienced dengue symptoms.
“We hope that the community can be more responsive in bringing sick family members to undergo examinations at health facilities. This is needed to reduce the worst risk of dengue fever,” he hoped. (ridho’i nababan)
