February is approaching, so rumors are the order of the day. Last customer? D’Angelo Russell, who could be in the Heat’s sights according to Darren Wolfson of KSTP extension. Info or intox to raise the leader’s odds?
A few weeks before the trade deadline, the temperature is rising.
And D’Angelo Russell, free agent since this summer, will undeniably be one of the players mentioned several times in potential sales.
In fact, the Wolves point guard will be free to sign wherever he wants this summer, and it’s hard to read what’s going on between the player and his Minnesota franchise. On the one hand, we don’t have the slightest feeling that Wolves want to go bust to keep and extend him, and on the other, it’s hard to see how Russell will want to prolong the adventure given his situation.
If he is capable of saving hot shots and is very popular in the community, D’Angelo remains in retrogression with respect to his net years, and all this while his salary increases (33 million this season). Therefore, we are entitled to see any rumors confirmed, such as the last one submitted by the highly respected Darren Wolfson on the side of the Wolves.

Just a little of interest, a very small chouille, right?
Logic on several fronts. Yep, from a Minnesota reporter who sniffs out what’s going on around D’Angelo Russell. Then, wording because it is about interests and not about serious indications. There may therefore have been an exchange without a lengthy discussion taking place. Finally, and as mentioned above, how can we not talk about D-Lo away with the Heat?
Miami is off to a shy start to the season (W15 – L15), giving the impression that the Eastern Conference elite is no longer within their reach. If the regular is still long and that Erik Spoelstra’s veterans will wake up at any time, we can only note that the vibrations they are not ideal for the conference finalist of the last Playoffs. And a little reinforcement, of course, would do them the greatest good to look the roof of the East straight in the eye again.
D’Angelo Russell is on his shyest averages since 2019 (17ppg and 6apg), management recently changed to Minnesota, his contract expires this summer and the last playoffs have shown that his presence on the court could be questioned. Knowing that Wolves are also in trouble (W14 – L15), there is a way to shake up the workforce at the deadline.
Now, what kind of contract to put in the balance…? Is that friend Russell weighs 33 million, so on the side of the Heat we should separate from a Kyle Lowry (29 million, difficult to imagine and not sure of winning there), or a Duncan Robinson – Victor Oladipo double (29 million two) . Rather complex as a mechanism, but it is known that formulas with 3 or 4 teams can also take place.
Meanwhile, one thing is certain: it’s not tomorrow that the rumors around D’Angelo Russell will subside, and it’s not even tomorrow that the Heat and the Wolves will find themselves on the podium of their conference. We are therefore monitoring the file, waiting for the next update.
