Dancing On Ice’s Rufus Hound took job on show after tough 6 months of unemployment E! News UK

Dancing On Ice star Rufus Hound has revealed he took the job on the hit ITV show after a tough six months of unemployment.

After signing on the dotted line to appear on this year’s hit show, Rufus admitted his schedule was free before the producers called him.

“I wouldn’t have done this show for love or money if it wasn’t for the fact that the whole world had stopped and everything I do for a living doesn’t exist,” he explained.

Rufus recalls thinking about the options he had at the time, one was to take part in the show and the other was to “sit at home feeling massively depressed”.

He continued, “To the point that’s true, if ITV calls me and tells me do you want to learn ice skating for 3 months and do a bunch of dances and be with people in the most miserable part of the world. being on a show that makes people happy and spreads joy, is something people watch as a family, so my choices are: I can do this or stay home feeling overwhelmingly depressed.

“Or wait for something arguably less joyful to present itself. So, why I do the show is for money because I couldn’t make any money and I have a mortgage and a family.

“That doesn’t mean I’m not looking forward to it and that doesn’t mean I don’t want it to go well.

The comedian added, “I might be the only person in the mix who says” no I’m unemployed I don’t want to do this I am doing it because I have to try to find a way to earn money. money “and then in the second week when it starts well or the fourth week when I get a perfect score or whatever, then the story can change – look at that drug that came in saying it didn’t is not what i wanted to do and now watch it go its jerk and its spin! ”

Rufus rounds off the 2021 roster by joining the announced Myleene Klass, Joe-Warren Plant, Denise Van Outen, Faye Brookes, Jason Donovan, Sonny Jay, Rebekah Vardy, Graham Bell, Colin Jackson CBE, Lady Leshurr and Billie Shepherd.
