Morocco qualified for the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup after winning 1-0 over Portugal thanks to Youssef En Nesyri’s 42nd-minute header from Yahia Attiyat-Allah’s cross.
The victory over Portugal became history for Morocco, an African country and also the first Arab country to qualify for the World Cup semi-finals.
Morocco’s great success was celebrated with joy. Not just for the players themselves, but with their families.
Boufal asked her mother to dance in front of fans on the sidelines. The player of the French club, Angers, is shooting to share happiness with his family.
That moment became one of the things that made me emotional besides Morocco’s record at the World Cup. Another poignant incident displayed by Boufal was the 29-year-old player tidying up his mother’s headscarf.
