A video clip released by social media pioneers of dancing and singing inside a mosque in Egypt sparked widespread anger.

Activists on communication sites circulated a video of a party inside the Sultan Abu Al-Ela Mosque in Cairo on the Prophet’s birthday, where the video included a musical concert with tambourines and a swirling dance.

The video included singing songs and attendees waved with the singer and many of them took photos and videos of the ceremony.

For its part, the AWQAF ministry intervened and decided to stop those responsible for the mosque.

And the ministry announced that, on the basis of a memorandum from the head of the religious sector, Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar Jumaa, the AWQAF minister, has decided to suspend Amr Sayed Al-Najjar, the imam of the mosque of Sultan Abu Al-Ela. , and Sheikh Ayman Ibrahim Muhammad Abdul Rahman, inspector of the Bulaq and Zamalek endowments administration.

The ministry accused mosque officials of violating and negligently allowing an evening of songs to be held without permission and in a manner incompatible with the prestige and majesty of mosques.
