A “dance bubble”. The dance and performing arts school Dancershow moved from its downtown premises to Route de la Digue in March 2023. Their old lease ended in December 2022. Finding new premises in three months has been a race against time.

The blow came at the end of October. “We learned on All Saints’ Day that we had to leave our premises in the center of Thionville on December 31, 2022, because our lease was not renewed”, explains, moved, David Fink, the director of the art school of the Danceshow show.
“We did not see ourselves stopping the activity in Thionville. We are the only ones in the sector to offer these types of dances. The dance and theater teachers, the students, the parents and I were hot for two months. We didn’t know if we were going to find new premises.
150 square meters dedicated to performing arts
A little miracle for Christmas. “We signed the lease for our new premises, route de la Digue, on December 24, 2022. We destroyed partitions, redid the floor and ceilings, to create our dance bubble”, details, with a relieved smile, the jazz-funk teacher. Black walls, large mirrors across the width of the room, a logo to rival that of the famous Lax Parisian studio – the stronghold of urban dancers from France and Navarre –, a solid oak parquet floor: three months later, the new room is ready.
Spring is mild in early March. “The 350 pupils of Thionville now benefit from a space of 150 square meters free of any obstacle. There are no posts in the middle like in our old room. We invested €70,000 in work and new equipment. We were very lucky that the dancers followed us and trusted us, ”says the Messin who was able to bounce back after the covid-19 crisis.
The end-of-year gala: revenge
“It was a bet to take over a room, to make so many investments when we are in a period of inflation. I drew on the reserves without having visibility. Electricity has increased, as have rental costs for performance halls for end-of-year galas by more than 30%. All I know is we’re gonna keep going. »
Determination and show at the American end of June 2023. “The students have made their mark in the room. Now, we are working hard for the show at the Thionville theater on June 18. We are going to celebrate this year on stage as it should be, to show that we did not let ourselves be defeated! »
A second room in Thionville?
David Fink never stops and does not lose hope. It’s one of his strengths, he says. The tenant of three dance halls in Metz and one in Thionville plans to extend its activities by 2025. “We still have 100 m² unused in our new premises, we could make a second hall in Thionville”, says he hear, specifying that it is in the state of reflection.
But before the quarter century, the fan of the clips of Michael Jackson, Britney Spears or even Justin Timberlake will celebrate his birthday. “Next year, we celebrate our 15th anniversary! We set the Arènes de Metz on fire for the 10th anniversary. I have projects in the boxes for the coming year. I want to make the eyes of the students shine”, he says, dreams of grandiose shows in his head.
