On the same day as UFC 268, there was a boxing gala where Saul “Canelo” Alvarez knocked out Caleb Plant.
Dana White, sitting in the UFC cage, also watched the fight “Canelo” on one of the screens. During a press conference following the UFC 268 gala, he openly admitted that:
I bet on him, that’s why I watched the fight.
When asked about the amount he wagered on “Canelo”, Dana replied:
I bet 100,000 on the Canelo and his knockout win.
The odds for such a fight ending oscillated around 1.50.
Canelo is considered by many commentators today as the best boxer in the world. Before the fight with Plant, the Mexican was the holder of the belts: WBA, WBO, WBC. After defeating Caleb, he added the IBF title to his collection.
Alvarez knocked out Caleb Plant in the eleventh round of the match.
