As the magazine “Kas Jauns” reports, for many years the costumes of former minister and managing director of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) and deputy chairman of the board Dana Reizniece-Ozola have been created by Liene Rolšteina, a well-known theater and cinema costume artist in Latvia.

Reizniece-Ozola also came to the celebration of the opening of her book in a dress made by Rolstein. “The dress was not made in honor of this event, but for one of the big chess events, but it seemed that it could fit well at the launch of my book. The dress fabric was purchased right here in Latvia,” she says.

“Lienia and I are thinking together about how my outfits will look. Over the years, while we have been working together, she has developed a feeling that I like it, and I tell her my idea and describe the event for which I need an outfit, and then she both offers a design and finds suitable fabric and colors. If in the past they were mostly dark blue or classic costumes, now that I am no longer in politics, I can afford more playful clothes,” the ex-minister reveals in a conversation with “Kas Jauns”.
Since Reizniece-Ozola’s daily life is currently connected with the world of chess, her wardrobe includes several outfits that reflect chess elements – larger or smaller chessboard squares
