USR deputy Dan Barna was involved, on Friday evening, in a road accident in Bucharest, being hit by a car while crossing the street on an electric scooter. Although, according to the police, he said he was not injured and refused transport to the hospital, the deputy later went to Floreasca Hospital.

“On March 31 this year, at around 7:10 p.m., police officers from the General Police Directorate of the Municipality of Bucharest – Road Brigade, while exercising their duties, in the area of Bd. Ion Mihalache, noticed that a person of a male who was crossing the public road on an electric scooter, at the intersection with Arh. Ion Mincu Street, was allegedly hit by a moving vehicle. In this context, the traffic police identified the people involved in the event, and the person who was traveling with the electric scooter denied that he had suffered any injuries, while also refusing to be transported to the hospital”, the Road Brigade reported, according to News.ro.
The driver and the man on the electric scooter were guided according to the legal provisions.
“Later, around 8:55 p.m., the Road Brigade was alerted by the Floreasca Hospital about the fact that, at this health unit, a person presented himself who stated that, around 7:10 p.m., he was involved in an accident road, as a result of which he suffered bodily injuries, being given medical care. Policemen from the Road Brigade went to the hospital, as well as to the scene, in order to carry out investigations and to establish the conditions and circumstances in which the traffic accident occurred”, said the cited source.
In this case, a criminal investigation file was opened for culpable bodily injury, under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the 1st District Court.
“Because more information appeared on the sources: this afternoon, I was involved in a traffic incident, I was hit by a car on a traffic lighted pedestrian crossing in the Capital. I thank the doctors at Floreasca Hospital for their care, my health is good, the consequences are not serious, I just need some rest.
