During a podcast on Spotify, Damso told Tony Parker about his NBA memories. And in particular, about the over-dominance of the San Antonio Spurs.
Damso was invited by Tony Parker on the set of his podcast on Spotify. The rapper and the ex-basketball player discussed at length around different themes, their backgrounds, inspiration, family, and they obviously talked about basketball. A sport that the author of QALF infinity discovered on arriving in Belgium, thanks to a friend, Basile. And bluntly, he told TP that he did not like him and his team. “It’s funny because you, I hated you!smiles Damso. Crazy, because you beat all my teams! I was like, ‘Damn, they piss off Spurs!

Damso: “With your name, I thought you were American”
With his San Antonio team, Tony Parker has indeed dominated the NBA for many years. During the 2000s, he was champion three times, in 2003, 2005 and 2007. “It was while growing up that I started to appreciate you strongly, picks up the rapper, because I realized you were from France. Before, with your name, I thought you were American. I was like, ‘They pi*r with Tim Duncan, you’re drunk'”. A way of feeling close to a French basketball player, born in Belgium, triumphing at the highest level in the world.

The Brussels rapper admits that he ended up enjoying the game of Spurs. “I ended up liking you because you were just too hot tactically. I thought it was a level all the same”, he continues. But for his part, Damso was rather a fan of another Western Conference team: the Los Angeles Lakers of Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal. “Because my brothers were Lakers fans, there was all this influence at home”, he recalls. A striking exchange between two references in their profession.
