I do not know what was in the minds of these two women who were arrested in Thailand. They carry 109 wild animal live in the trunk.
Reported detik.comSaturday (2/7/2022) this arrest occurred on Monday (27/6) in Bandara Suvarnabhumi Bangkok. It started when two Indian women were detained by airport officials because there was something strange in their luggage.
While trying to get through airport security when officers noticed some suspicious items in their suitcases. After further investigation, authorities found a total of at least 109 animals including two white hedgehogtwo armadillos, 35 turtles, 50 chameleons, and 20 snakes.

A wildlife and plant trade watchdog group, TRAFFIC released a report in March 2022 that traded wildlife through Indian airports and said it was the fourth largest illegal trade in the world. They are number 4 after the arms, drug and human trafficking, and are often associated with other illegal trades.
In fact, from 2011 to 2020, the report says that there were 141 wildlife seizure incidents involving 146 different wildlife species at India’s 18 main airports.
“More than 70,000 wild animals, including body parts or their derivatives, were recovered during the study period. Derived wildlife weighing more than 4,000 kg (about four and a half tons) was also seized at airports in India,” the report said.
India passed the Wildlife (Protection) Act 50 years ago in 1972, but according to TRAFFIC wildlife trade is still a big problem in India.
“Despite the restrictions, wildlife trade continues. The TRAFFIC study highlights the increasing misuse of airports to smuggle wildlife and contraband in India and across the region,” the report continues.
“The findings of this study reflect ongoing trade and are not an actual representation as the vast majority of illegal wildlife trade is uncontrolled and unreported,” it added.
Regarding the arrest in Bangkok, an earlier statement from Thailand’s Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation said that the surviving animals would be sent to wildlife rescue centers or captive stations across the country.
