Damian Lillard’s Trade Rumors: Miami Heat, Utah Jazz, Chicago Bulls, Charlotte Hornets, and Brooklyn Nets in Talks

Damian Lillard’s desire to leave the Portland Trail Blazers for the Miami Heat will have several protagonists, since the Utah Jazz, Chicago Bulls, Charlotte Hornets and Brooklyn Nets could be involved in a trade that promises to be historic in the NBA.

Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports reported that the upcoming trade could have multiple teams involved and that negotiations have intensified as the weeks have passed.

It is well known that Lillard’s desire is to join the Heat, however, the Blazers will only accept a trade that favors them. This is where the figure of Tyler Herro appears, who could be the key to the aforementioned offseason trade.

Herro will have a salary of $27 million in 2023-24 and could be one of the players who comes to Portland in these negotiations, however, the Trail Blazers have several young guards on the roster such as Anfernee Simons, Shaedon Sharpe and Scoot Henderson, who might change their minds.

Lillard, for his part, has spent his 11 seasons in Portland, swearing allegiance in previous years, when he was also in trade rumors. In his NBA career he has been invited to the All-Star Game 7 times, has 7 inclusions in the All NBA Team and is on the NBA 75th Anniversary Team.

“Portland is open to negotiating with any NBA team. Miami does not have any advantage despite Lillard’s wishes. The Blazers want a package of young players and draft picks,” revealed ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Lillard’s value is very high, not in vain he left averages of 32.2 points per game, 4.8 rebounds, 7.3 assists, 46.3% in field goals and 37.1% in triples last season.
